ROSIE STOLLERY
BIOGRAPHY

Rosie Stollery is an artist living in Byron Bay, Australia. She has spent many years working as an architect creating beautiful living spaces connected to nature. Her art is also based in exploring the effect that nature has upon our soul, our well being and our inner balance.

She has exhibited in Sydney and the Northern Rivers over the last 20 years, with many of her works in collections around the country.

Her work is inspired by her walks on the beach and has a foundation in the concept of time.

It explores how a walk in nature can change us as she responds to the call of the ocean, the headland and change itself. She brings the unique energy of a place into her paintings. The work is not a representation of one moment, but many moments together.

She depicts all at once, the rushing surf, the wildness of the waves, the tide, the world awakening, the turmoil of life, the calmness of the horizon, the foreboding of a stormy sky, secrets revealed or a disappearing footprint.

There are paintings within paintings in her work, with many layers of experience, as she first views the landscape from a distance and then in detail.

Rosie sees painting as an essential path direct to the inner world of us all, a place where our hearts feel a sense of freedom and yet still a connection to the larger natural world.
